About Center for Discovery Southport
With over 25 years of expertise, Center for Discovery has been treating eating disorders using evidence-based therapies supported by research. Their Southport location is one of the leading eating disorder programs in the state of Connecticut, with a staff of highly trained therapists, dietitians, and medical doctors. The staff provides a variety of therapeutic modalities, including yoga, meditation, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure & response prevention (ERP), and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). The levels of care available are residential treatment, a partial hospitalization program (PHP), and virtual programming. Treatment is available for adolescents ages 10-17.
Center for Discovery Southport incorporates academic time into the daily schedule to help ensure adolescents continue their education while in treatment. Center for Discover partners with LearnWell to provide education consultation and services. LearnWell specializes in providing educational services to students in behavioral health settings, with the goal of helping them smoothly transition back to their education setting after treatment.
