About The Cedars Midlands Estate
This addiction treatment center provides a lovely landscape of rolling hills and farmland for patients as they receive treatment for their chemical or behavioral addictions. The treatment they provide is founded on the 12-step philosophy, however they utilize multi-disciplinary professionals in the process of healing. The average length of treatment is 21 days, which is the amount of time that is usually covered by insurance, however longer amounts of time are encouraged to ensure longevity in recovery. Within the first phase of treatment, patients can receive medication management and withdrawal management, daily group therapy and regular individual therapy, 12-step introduction, addiction education, family therapy, community outings and healthy meals. In the 2nd phase of treatment, patients are given more responsibility in the community and begin to help the newer clients in the beginning stages of sobriety. In the 3rd phase of treatment, patients transition into their lives and into society. They are given the option to work during the day and return back to the estate in the afternoon.
The clinicians at Cedars focus deeply on the patients’ individual ecosystems as they create treatment plans for their recovery. They believe in rigorous adherence to the 12-step program and commitment to holistic wellbeing in all areas of their lives. The primary forms of therapy used at Cedars are one-on-one counseling, group therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and medication-assisted treatment.
The Cedars Midlands Estate aids clients in preparing for discharge through relapse prevention planning and connecting them to local resources. Their in-depth planning helps clients prepare to continue their recovery journey by helping them to integrate into 12-Step support groups, find sponsorship, and connecting to the alumni support group. The counselors at Cedars Midland Estate continue to provide support to their clients until they find a sponsor.
The Cedars Midland Estate works with South African Medical Aid to cover the cost of addiction and substance abuse treatment. If a client does not have South African insurance coverage, The Cedars can help explore other options. They believe that in the end, addiction always costs more than treatment.
