About Awakenings Clinical Neuroscience Institute
Awakenings is a mental health facility run by a psychiatrist and her team who offer holistic psychiatric treatment and specialize in using modern, innovative treatments for medication-resistant mental health conditions. Dr. Davila and her team treat depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), attention-deficit disorder/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), and more. In her holistic approach to mental health care, she evaluates how patients feel emotionally and cognitively by asking deep questions. She also provides genetic testing to help choose medications and treatments that will work with patients’ biochemical makeup. She then refers patients to Awakening’s intensive outpatient program (IOP), individual counseling or peer support as needed.
Awakenings uses TMS for patients struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD, fibromyalgia and OCD, who have failed to receive improvement from medication. TMS works to stimulate the brain with magnetic pulses, which creates new neurons and pathways in the brain. Over 300 patients at Awakenings have received TMS treatment and 80% of patients experienced full remission from their depressive symptoms. In addition to TMS, Awakenings offers ketamine treatments for patients with anxiety, depression, bipolar, PTSD and chronic pain, who are drug-resistant. Ketamine treatments work by creating an antidepressant effect that exceeds the ability of traditional depression medications. Patients have a therapy session with Dr Davila whle receiving ketamine treatments, which allows many people to easily look inward and reflect. Awakenings accepts nearly all major insurance plans.
