About Aspire Counseling Services - Bakersfield (Behavioral Health)
Aspire Behavioral Health specializes in short-term intensive outpatient (IOP) and partial hospitalization (PHP) services for individuals experiencing severe mental health symptoms.
Designed for individuals who are experiencing behavioral or emotional difficulties but do not require (or no longer require) the intense level of psychiatric care provided in an inpatient or partial hospitalization (PHP) program, Aspire’s Behavioral Health IOP provides short-term stabilization of psychiatric symptoms while allowing participants to live an independent lifestyle. Small group sessions comprise most of the therapeutic work, held 3 days per week, for 3 hours each day, in addition to individual sessions with an Aspire clinician. Aspire applies a holistic approach to clinical therapy, and incorporates a variety of evidence-based modalities as well as experiential therapies like animal therapy, art therapy, mindfulness therapy, meditation, yoga, and music therapy.
Aspire’s PHP offers a more direct and intensive level of psychiatric care for those individuals requiring a higher level of care, until they are ready for IOP support.
Aspire’s Adolescent IOP addresses the unique challenges faced by adolescents (age 12–17) with behavioral health conditions or experiencing an overwhelming crisis. The program is intended to be short-term, to allow young people to stay in school and maintain much of their daily routine. Aspire’s Adolescent IOP aims to teach adolescents ways to overcome their depression, stress, and anxiety, while also teaching skills to help manage their emotions, empowering them to care for themselves more effectively.
Aspire Behavioral Health offers therapeutic classes within their outpatient programs, which can help further improvement of behavioral health conditions. Available online or in person, classes consist of mindfulness meditation, gentle yoga, HealthRHYTHMS Group Empowerment Drumming, and teen and adult alumni groups. These classes are designed to improve a sense of self, reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, and increase positivity and socialization.
