About ACUTE Center for Eating Disorders
This 30-bed center specializes in treating both male and female patients ages 15+, regardless of how low their BMI is. They provide inpatient medical treatment for life-threatening eating disorders, as well as the necessary clinical support to help foster long-term healing. ACUTE differs from a traditional center that treats eating disorders in that they provide medical stabilization for the most severe and extreme cases of eating disorders or malnutrition. The goal of treatment is for patients to seamlessly transition into a residential facility to further address the eating disorder and work towards ongoing recovery. If patients have a co-occurring substance use disorder, ACUTE can provide safe detox for their immediate substance concerns. This center believes that true recovery begins with healthy weight restoration. In order to restore healthy weight gain, the providers manage blood chemistry abnormalities, conduct proper monitoring to avoid Refeeding Syndrome, and introduce feeding tubes on an as-needed basis. ACUTE is in-network with most privately held insurance companies.
