About Voyage Recovery
This residential treatment center is located directly on the beach in Jupiter, Florida and offers research-backed clinical therapy combined with innovative, experiential therapies for young men who struggle with addiction. The treatment center is a 15 bed facility and they have hired 5 trained clinicians to work with their clients. Not only do the men benefit from the therapy sessions, but they also experience healing from the natural resources that South Florida has to offer.
The program at Voyage is intended for young men who have substance use disorders, and the master’s level clinicians are trained in treating co-occurring disorders as well. The men spend a great deal of time outdoors, challenging themselves and engaging in activities that are outside their comfort zone. Some of those activities include deep sea fishing, swimming, snorkeling and kayaking. Voyage believes that it is possible to rewire the brain to appreciate healthy stimulation rather than unhealthy stimulation from a substance.
Voyage believes that family involvement is crucial to success in recovery. During the program, the family spends a week on-site with their loved one. They learn to analyze the thinking and communication errors that contribute to the dysfunction in the family and learn about concepts like enabling and codependency.
