About The Child and Family Therapy Center at Lowry
Located near the Play Street Museum and the International School of Denver, the Child and Family Therapy Center at Lowry supports children, teens, adults, couples, and families through therapy, psychological testing, and consultation. Play therapy serves children ages 3–8, while older children and teens may receive psychotherapy using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness, movement, or art. Adults also seek support for marital, parenting, and life-transition concerns.
Strengths to Build On
The center addresses anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), behavioral challenges, and parenting or co-parenting concerns. Therapists use strengths-based, systemic, and patient-centered approaches and tailor treatment to each client. Approaches represented by the team include acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI), exposure response prevention (ERP), and functional family therapy.
Support That Fits Real Life
The Child and Family Therapy Center at Lowry provides psychological testing for diagnostic clarification and treatment planning, including cognitive, ADHD, learning, and executive functioning assessments. School observation and consultation can address educational concerns, while telehealth is available with some therapists. Sessions are typically 50 minutes, with scheduling ranging from twice weekly to twice monthly depending on individual needs.
