Doctoral counseling psychology students provide therapy under the supervision of licensed psychologists at NUhope Community Counseling Center, a training clinic at Northwest University. They offer individual, couples, family, and group therapy for adolescents and adults, with in-person and telemental health options for Washington residents. Therapy addresses concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, and relationship problems, with sliding-scale fees based on what clients can afford.

Therapy Shaped Around Treatment Goals

Therapists build a treatment plan around each client’s concerns and use approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based CBT, and emotion-focused therapy. Couples follow a more defined process through Gottman Method Couples Therapy, beginning with an assessment that helps the therapist set treatment goals. Sessions then focus on practicing Gottman tools for communication, conflict, compromise, and conversations about stress. Therapy sessions typically last 45 to 50 minutes.

Psychological Assessment Services

NUhope also conducts psychological and educational assessments for children, adolescents, and adults. Available evaluations address ADHD, learning and developmental concerns, giftedness, school readiness, emotional and behavioral functioning, career questions, and personality. Depending on the assessment, clinicians may complete interviews, formal testing, questionnaires, record reviews, and feedback sessions before they provide written findings and recommendations. They also offer limited lower-cost assessments for clients facing financial hardship.
