Dimensions Clinic

Created for queer, transgender, and nonbinary young people, Dimensions Clinic provides medical and mental healthcare for LGBTQ+ youth and young adults. Located within Castro-Mission Health Center, the clinic serves ages 12–25, including many young people from low-income households and those facing family rejection, homelessness, discrimination, violence, and complex trauma. Care brings together behavioral health counseling and psychiatry with primary care, sexual healthcare, and gender-affirming services, including help accessing gender-affirming surgeries.

Address Mental Health with Affirming Care

Dimensions Clinic uses individual and group behavioral health counseling to help young people address their mental health while receiving care that respects their gender identity and sexuality. Psychiatry is also available for clients who need additional mental health support. The clinic’s behavioral health team can work alongside medical providers, giving young people access to mental and physical healthcare through the same program. Dimensions also provides pre-surgical assessments for clients pursuing gender-affirming surgery.

Helping Teens Navigate Their Care

Beyond therapy, young people can receive wellness checkups, sexual healthcare, gender-affirming care, and support accessing surgery. Through Castro-Mission Health Center, clients can also connect with crisis support, short-term counseling, substance use treatment, and referrals for specialty mental healthcare when needed. The broader health center helps patients address practical barriers involving housing, food, shelter, transportation, and medical equipment. Dimensions also provides insurance navigation and free or low-cost care for eligible youth, helping make ongoing healthcare easier to access.
