Located east of Barton Creek, Austin Trauma Therapy Center is an outpatient mental health practice near South Congress that treats trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), grief, anger, and related concerns. They serve children, teens, adults, couples, and families through in-person and virtual appointments. Clients can receive individual therapy, group therapy, psychiatry, and medication management. The team includes therapists, social workers, counselors, psychologists, and psychiatric professionals, with several clinicians who speak both English and Spanish.
Trauma Therapies and Clinical Services
Therapists use eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), internal family systems (IFS), attachment-based therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, mindfulness, somatic approaches, exposure therapy, narrative therapy, emotionally focused therapy, family systems therapy, and trauma-informed yoga. They work with LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC clients and use culturally responsive, anti-oppressive, trauma-informed care. Group options include trauma-informed yoga for sexual assault survivors, and some group programming is described as intensive outpatient.
Access, Scheduling, and Payment
Clients can attend outpatient care while continuing work, school, caregiving, and family responsibilities. They offer telehealth, in-person sessions, and some weekend availability. BCBS PPO is accepted, while BCBS HMO is not. Clients can also use private pay, HSA funds, out-of-network superbills, and sliding-scale rates when eligible. Individual therapy starts at $130 per session, couples and family therapy starts at $165 per session, initial medication management costs $200 for 60 minutes, and 30-minute follow-ups cost $125.
