ATX Counseling
About ATX Counseling
Grounded in the belief that relationships help people change, ATX Counseling serves teens, young adults, adults, couples, and families in Austin. Their individual, couples, family, and group therapy addresses trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, grief and loss, stress, and burnout. Clients can meet on-site or online, with dedicated services for teens, college students, couples, and families.
Address Patterns with Purpose
They draw from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), mindfulness, and somatic techniques. CBT examines patterns in thoughts and behaviors, while DBT skills develop mindfulness and emotional regulation. For trauma-related concerns, their approach with EMDR can address distress connected to past experiences, giving therapists several methods to match with each client's concerns and treatment goals.
Create Space for Different Life Stages
ATX Counseling extends care through the Girl Power program for middle school girls, a co-ed high school group, Teen Parent Group, Men's Group, and 20-Somethings Group programs for college students and young adults. Dedicated teen and college student services address school pressure, relationships, identity, and life transitions, while couples and family therapy focuses on communication, conflict, trust, intimacy, and family concerns.
