About The Next Door Recovery
The Next Door was started by a group of women from First Baptist Church Nashville who prayed for guidance on how to use a vacant building owned by the church. After assessing the needs of the local community, The Next Door found that transitional housing for women was one of the biggest needs of the community, and shortly after, The Next Door was born. Now after numerous years of service, The Next Door has flourished as a program offering a range of services to women in need including medically monitored detox, residential care, partial hospitalization (PHP), and intensive outpatient programming (IOP). The Next Door provides services to women and pregnant women who are impacted by addiction, mental illness, trauma, and incarceration. The Next Door’s goal is to help women get back on track by providing evidence-based therapy along with 12-Step facilitation, prayer, and meditation in a Christ-centered environment. Women will receive individual therapy, process groups, life skill, case management, Rock to Recovery therapy, family therapy, and relapse prevention.
The Next Door purchased a multi-story office building and creatively converted it into a 20-bed residential facility. Residents share a room with 1 other roommate in a cozy, comfortable environment. Residents can participate in physical activity led by a fitness instructor once a week at the local YMCA. Those who wish to get outdoors are welcome to take walks around the building during free time or smoke in the designated smoking area. Meals are served cafeteria-style with nutritious ingredients. The Next Door is passionate about empowering women and aiding in the recovery process to create long-lasting change.
