About Tal-Ibwar - Ċentru Terapewtiku għall-Adolexxenti (Caritas Malta)
Tal-Ibwar is structured adolescent programming offered by Caritas Malta for teens 12-17 years old who are seeking treatment for substance use issues. Tal-Ibwar offers both residential and non-residential therapeutic programmes and collaborates with adolescents' caregivers and family members during treatment. Tal-Ibwar uses the 7 challenges model throughout their programming, which helps teens engage in inactively thinking about their use of alcohol or other drugs. The residential program offers a home-like facility while engaging teens in sports, adventure therapy, and learning during their residential stay. In addition, Tal-Ibwar offers psychosocial interventions through psychotherapists, social workers, counsellors, family therapists, and psychiatrists. Tal-Ibwar offers aftercare planning and will work to support adolescents and their family after treatment.
