About Veterans Housing Veterans
Built around a 90-day plan that connects sober living with employment, financial skills, and permanent housing, Veterans Housing Veterans helps military veterans prepare for life on their own. Founded by Coast Guard veteran George Schembri III, the Tampa Bay nonprofit provides separate furnished homes for men and women in St. Petersburg and Brandon, combining shared living with practical support for their next move.
Build Stability in 90 Days
he 90-day plan moves through 3 stages. In the first month, residents settle into house routines, seek work, and connect with VA benefits and recovery resources. The second month focuses on budgeting, savings, and credit repair, while the final month helps residents explore housing options and prepare for their next move. Staff also connect veterans with job opportunities, including maintenance and construction work, and homeownership education. The plan guides progress rather than setting a fixed move-out date.
Follow Clear House Rules
Residents stay in furnished bedrooms with shared kitchens, living areas, and laundry facilities. They must avoid alcohol and illegal drugs on and off the property, complete random monthly drug tests, share chores, and attend house meetings. Those who follow house rules can earn later curfews and overnight passes. Veterans can apply online or by phone, either directly or through referrals from VA social workers, veterans treatment courts, hospitals, and families. Staff confirm bed availability, arrange move-in, and provide weekly check-ins to discuss progress and ongoing needs.
