About Sequoia House Women's Recovery House
Created to give women in rural Polk County a place to continue recovery close to home, Sequoia House Women's Recovery House offers sober living in Luck, Wisconsin. Operated by Redwood Recovery Project, the 8-bed residence serves women ages 18 and older transitioning from addiction treatment or incarceration. The home follows a trauma-informed, peer-supported approach and holds NARR Level II certification, providing structured housing for women recovering from substance use disorders (SUDs).
Building Recovery Through Community
Residents participate in peer-led support groups, recovery coaching, life skills training, and sober community activities. They attend 3 or 4 recovery meetings weekly, depending on employment or school status, and secure a sponsor within 30 days. Weekly house meetings address responsibilities and recovery expectations, while regular and random drug and alcohol testing reinforces accountability. The house also accepts residents using medication-assisted treatment (MAT), subject to director approval.
Preparing for Independent Living
Residents work toward financial independence by securing employment within their first month and managing their own meals and household chores. The house maintains an 11 p.m. curfew and requires a buddy system during the first month, with exceptions for approved activities. After 60 days, residents may request overnight passes. Monthly residency costs $600, and applicants must complete an intake interview and demonstrate sobriety before admission.
