Redemption House
About Redemption House
Located in New Haven, Connecticut, Redemption House is a free, peer-run respite for men recovering from alcohol and drug use with nowhere safe to go. It serves people who relapse and must leave a sober house, those discharged from a hospital or treatment, and people off the street. Stays typically last a few days to a few weeks.
Support From People Who Have Been There
Every person guests meet at the house is in recovery. Sober volunteers, many from New Beginning Recovery's sober living homes, staff the residence, and a live-in house manager provides structure, accountability and support around the clock. No insurance or referral paperwork is required, and no one is turned away because of cost.
A Real Home and a Path Forward
Up to 16 guests share bedrooms, meals in the kitchen, common living spaces and a backyard. When guests are ready, the team connects them with New Beginning Recovery houses and other services for longer-term sober living. Through Lola's Workshop, guests are also rehabbing a workspace and learning hands-on contracting skills that can lead to employment.
