New Beginning Recovery - Richard’s House, located in New Haven, Connecticut, offers a supportive community where men can focus on maintaining sobriety while developing health routines and personal accountability. Sharing a home with peers who understand the challenges of recovery facilitates genuine support, peer encouragement, and commitment to accomplishing common goals. The structured environment provides stability while allowing residents to practice habits and responsibilities that support long-term recovery.
Building Daily Routines and Life Skills
Men living at this sober home are encouraged to take steps towards personal growth and independent living through learning new life skills and strengthening coping strategies. Through weekly meetings and offsite community events, men rebuild confidence, establish connections and harbor new skills that can be applied when they finally reintegrate with their family, work, and communities.
Peer Support and Onsite Amenities
Richard’s House is supervised by a house manager who is available any time of the day to support men when they need it. Men also join in annual offsite spiritual retreat to receive spiritual nourishment and guidance while strengthening brotherhood with peers. While staying at this sober home, men can access the internet to stay connected with families and loved ones while bedrooms, television, gym, kitchen, and outdoor patio are for common use. A Narcan station is also available for opioid-related emergencies.
