About Journeymen Recovery Homes - Men's & Woman's Home
Providing men and women with structured housing after addiction treatment, Journeymen Recovery Homes in Wilmington, North Carolina, operates a sober living home under the supervision of Chip Jones, who is also in recovery from alcoholism. Residents follow house rules, maintain sobriety, and attend AA, NA, or Celebrate Recovery meetings as a condition of residency. They must also obtain a 12-step sponsor and undergo scheduled and random alcohol and drug testing.
Recovery Requirements and Daily Living
Residents must work, attend school, volunteer, or actively seek employment while completing household chores and participating in house recreation activities. Journeymen recommends an intensive outpatient program (IOP) and requires residents to speak with a substance use counselor twice monthly. The home accepts certain prescribed maintenance medications, including Suboxone, Subutex, and Vivitrol, but prohibits methadone. Residents may use personal cell phones, wireless internet, and a shared computer while following household rules.
Admissions and Housing Costs
People begin the admission process with a phone interview, followed by a request for their mental health assessment and medication information from the referring treatment facility. Applicants must arrive sober and undergo alcohol and drug testing upon arrival. Journeymen charges a $360 entry payment, including a $200 nonrefundable administrative fee and a $160 deposit. Residents pay $160 weekly for room and board. The home also arranges pickup for incoming residents traveling by bus or plane.
