About Coconut Bay Men's Oxford House
Part of the nationwide Oxford House network founded in 1975, Coconut Bay Men’s Oxford House provides affordable sober living for men recovering from alcoholism and drug addiction. The Oxford House model began when a group of recovering individuals rented a home together after their halfway house closed, creating a community focused on sobriety and accountability. Residents can apply after completing treatment, detox, or once they are free from withdrawal symptoms. Living alongside peers in recovery gives men time to strengthen their sobriety and recovery skills.
Independent Living in a Shared Recovery Community
Oxford Houses are rented family homes that are completely self-run and financially self-supported. Residents share household responsibilities, contribute equally to expenses, and participate in a democratic voting process where each member has an equal voice in house decisions. Men receive 24-hour support from peers in recovery while learning alcohol and drug-free living skills and building accountability. Weekly costs typically range from $135 to $225 and cover a fully furnished home, utilities, internet, and household supplies, helping keep recovery housing affordable and accessible.
