About ANEW Chemical Health Services - Hudson House
A women’s sober living home on Saint Paul’s East Side, Hudson House offers furnished housing for up to 1 year while residents attend ANEW Chemical Health Services’ 9-month outpatient treatment program. Spence Specialties, LLC operates the home as part of ANEW’s housing program. Women live at Hudson House and travel to ANEW for group and individual counseling. The housing program accepts women from across Minnesota who have at least 30 days of sobriety. Residents must follow house rules and continue attending treatment.
Combine Housing With Outpatient Care
Admission starts with an assessment review and phone screening. ANEW’s outpatient program has 3 phases, each lasting about 3 months. Treatment starts with 3 group sessions and 1 individual session each week. Sessions become less frequent as clients work on coping skills and relapse prevention. Clients with children under 18 complete a parenting class, and ANEW offers separate mental health services through its health and wellness clinic. Housing is funded through Group Residential Housing (GRH) or board and lodge, and residents receiving MFIP pay $129 a month plus a $200 deposit.
Build Recovery Into Daily Life
Residents use the home’s kitchens and laundry facilities, attend weekly house meetings, and participate in at least 2 recovery meetings each week. They bring their own food, arrange transportation and childcare when needed, and keep medications in a personal lockbox. After the first 30 days, residents discuss work, school, or volunteering with their counselor or house manager. Participation in these activities is expected during the later outpatient phases.
