Serenity Behavioral Health works with several in-network and out-of-network providers.
Serenity Behavioral Health is a family-centric outpatient program treating adolescents and young adults (ages 14-30) with mental health disorders. They offer 2 levels of care, an intensive outpatient program (IOP) and an outpatient program (which is available in-person and virtually). Serenity takes an individualized and evidence-based approach to treatment, using therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, psychoeducation, mindfulness, and recreation therapies. One activity used is a game called “feelings charades” that garners discussion around different feelings as a way of getting clients comfortable sharing about their thoughts and feelings.
Family therapy is at the core of Serenity’s treatment approach, with their staff being trained in family systems theory. Family counseling sessions take place bi-weekly, with the goal of families learning to understand one another and collaborate to solve problems. Additional family support is available through a parents’ group that meets bi-weekly to provide education and peer support.
