About 5280 Recovery High School
At 5280 Recovery High School, students work toward their diploma while strengthening recovery from substance use, eating disorders, self-harm, and other destructive behaviors. Recovery in Everyday School Life
Dedicated recovery coached provide peer support, case management, and. guidance through each student’s journey, while mental health support help address challenges that often accompany recovery. A required B.O.A.T. (Being Open and Authentic Together) meetings bring together students, teachers and peers, to discuss recovery, build accountability, and strengthen community. By maintaining a substance-free campus and encouraging a culture that actively discourages bullying, 5280 creates a supportive environment where students can focus on both personal growth and academic success. Students age 20 and younger can enroll anytime during the school year, regardless of their Denver metro school district.
Building Skills for Life Beyond High School
Smaller class sizes and hands-on, project-based learning help students reconnect with school while preparing for what’s next. Every student completes a 4-week internship, a senior project, and semester “Deep Dive” experiences that encourage exploration beyond the classroom. Students can enroll in concurrent college courses or the gifted and talented program, leaving 5280 with stronger academic skills, healthier routines, and a solid foundation for long-term recovery.
