About Sandhill Center
Sandhill Center is a residential program for children ages 8-13 who are experiencing significant struggles in their current settings due to their inability to regulate their emotions. They primarily help children who struggle to regulate emotional states, are on the autism spectrum, have depression, anxiety, or bipolar disorder, among other behavioral concerns. The residential program provides children with therapeutic support, education, medication management, service learning opportunities, and recreational activities.
Students at Sandhill Center participate in weekly individual therapy, family therapy sessions, animal-assisted therapy, and service learning opportunities in the local community. Recreational activities are a large part of the program. Sandhill Center plans frequent recreational activities including biking, running, games, horseback riding, and trips to local museums and sporting events. All students at Sandhill attend Del Rio Academy, an accredited, private school on campus. The school incorporates experiential learning, technology, and classroom instruction to help enhance the learning process.
