About Tsow-Tun Le Lum Society
Located on Cowichan lands in Duncan, British Columbia, Tsow-Tun Le Lum Society is an indigenous-led residential treatment center that supports adults through live-in substance use, trauma, and grief programs. Care integrates culture, ceremony, Elders, traditional teachings, group therapy, individual counselling, and holistic healing for body, mind, and spirit.
Live-In Treatment Programs
The society offers two intensive live-in programs with staggered sobriety requirements. Thuy Na Mut runs six weeks and targets substance use recovery for those who are at least two weeks clean, building cultural identity alongside a personal life plan. Kwunatsustul runs five weeks for those six months sober, working through trauma, abuse, grief, and intergenerational harm.
Honouring Grief Program
The Honouring Grief Program serves those whose unresolved grief is affecting daily life, requiring one month of sobriety to attend. They use group therapy and 1-on-1 clinical counselling alongside brushing and cleansing ceremonies led by Elders. Kwunatsustul also includes art therapy, journaling, a Welcome Home Ceremony, and separate men's and women's groups.
