Terra Behavioral Health invites clients to experience real change through mental health treatment in a resort-like center in the rolling hills of Temecula Valley. They look at how mental health, substance use, relationships, biology, and environment interact, and design treatment for the whole person within those systems. Care includes therapy, medication management, skill-building, step-down programs, and support for the relationships and environments clients return to, helping progress hold after treatment.

Strengthen Self-Understanding and Relationships

Terra’s approach focuses on helping individuals understand how they relate to others and themselves, how those patterns formed, and how to create healthier, more stable ways of connecting in the real world. Days are structured and balanced, with a mix of therapy, skill-building, connection, and restorative time. They weave together:

  • Proven psychotherapies
  • Psychiatric and medical care
  • Family and support-system involvement
  • Nervous system regulation and daily grounding practices, and
  • Long-term recovery planning

Experience Healing in a Resort-Like Setting

Located in a former wedding venue, Terra offers an intimate retreat within easy driving distance for clients flying in from out of state. Clients stay in a 6-bed residence with private or shared rooms, most with ensuite bathrooms. A private chef prepares all meals, gathering everyone for lunch and dinner. The expansive grounds include calming water features, a pool, hiking trails, a gazebo for group sessions, and spaces for movement and yard games.

Sustain Progress After Treatment

Terra approaches mental health and substance use recovery as an ongoing process of care and growth, supported through continuity, accountability, and compassionate follow-up over time. Discharge planning begins early, with a focus on continuity of care and strong aftercare support. They collaborate closely with ongoing providers, respecting any existing relationships and communicating clearly to ensure aligned care. They also continue progress check-ins and alumni support to help care carry forward.

Experience Care Centered on Relationships
Experience Care Centered on Relationships
Terra’s leadership has decades of experience building and scaling respected behavioral health programs. Their team has seen firsthand what truly supports healing and what quietly undermines it. As a result, they deliver care that is deeply relational, coordinated, and consistent, helping clients feel safe and steady during vulnerable moments.
Invite Loved Ones into the Healing Process
Invite Loved Ones into the Healing Process
When clinically appropriate, the program meaningfully involves families and chosen supporters through education, communication, and structured collaboration. Family involvement supports healthier communication and boundaries, increases understanding of treatment and recovery, and reduces patterns that unintentionally reinforce distress. Families learn to move forward with clarity and more effective ways of relating.
Align Medication Decisions with Therapeutic Goals
Align Medication Decisions with Therapeutic Goals
Terra’s psychiatrists approach medication conservatively, with careful diagnosis, intention, and ongoing evaluation. Medications are used to support functioning and participation in treatment—not to override symptoms or replace meaningful clinical work—with the goal of helping individuals regain stability and agency. They regularly monitor effectiveness and make adjustments.
Feel Safe with Trauma-Informed Care
Feel Safe with Trauma-Informed Care
Trauma-informed care is embedded throughout Terra’s programs, not just therapy sessions. Clinicians recognize trauma-related stress responses like hyperarousal and dissociation, and use clear, consistent communication and boundaries that promote safety rather than control. Their programs also value structured routines and calm physical environments to reduce sensory overload and support nervous system regulation.
