About Settlement Home for Children Austin
The Settlement Home for Children, a nonprofit organization near Austin, Texas, helps young people who have faced severe emotional trauma, abuse, and neglect. The Home offers different levels of care, including a Residential Treatment Center, Group Homes, and foster and adoption services.
Counseling That Builds Trust
The Home uses therapies that help children feel safe and supported. Each child gets a treatment plan designed by a licensed therapist. Residents receive individual, group, and family therapy. The Home also trains caregivers in trust-based relational intervention, a method that builds healthy relationships and emotional healing through trust and consistency.
Safe and Caring Living Spaces
Children live in small cottages or apartments with 24-hour care and guidance. In the Residential Treatment Center and Group Homes, trained Houseparents live on-site and provide support every day. Young adults in the Supervised Independent Living Program get their own apartments while learning life skills to prepare for a successful future.
