About Recovery in Motion
With the mission to redefine the landscape of substance use disorder treatment, Recovery in Motion serves men age 18 and older through an 8-week residential program for substance use disorders. The program accommodates up to 26 men and supports their overall wellness across physical, spiritual, emotional, mental, intellectual, social, environmental, and financial into treatment. Men take part in licensed alcohol and drug counselor (LADC) groups, and certified peer recovery specialist (CPRS) groups, individual sessions, homework time, recreation, and in-house and community-based support meetings.
Healing Through Connection
Men have access to a mental health professional for mental health needs alongside substance use treatment. At Recovery in Motion, certified peer recovery specialists (CPRSs) support clients by sharing their own recovery experiences and helping them build practical recovery skills. The residential program also includes individual work, group sessions, and access to a workout room and gymnasium, with time for recreation built into the weekly schedule. The center also has 2 therapy dogs that provide comfort and companionship throughout treatment.
Structure and Daily Life
The center combines structured treatment with recreation and community support throughout the 60-day program. Clients attend scheduled groups and individual sessions while also participating in support meetings outside the program. Recovery in Motion stores cell phones and other electronic devices during residential stays, and clients have a weekly staff-supported trip to Walmart. Family and other supportive visitors can also visit during scheduled hours.
