Rooted in a belief that healing happens through connection, Orama Residential Treatment Center is a 19-bed residential program for girls ages 13-17 facing depression, anxiety, trauma, non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI), and suicidal ideation (SI). The program provides a structured, relationship-centered environment where teens can build emotional stability and move toward long-term progress.

Align Care With Real Needs

Treatment is guided by an integrative psychiatric approach that looks beyond symptoms to understand each teen across biological and emotional factors. Care may include comprehensive lab testing and advanced diagnostics, such as nutrient levels and thyroid function, to inform treatment decisions. Evidence-based therapies including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and EMDR-informed care are used to strengthen emotional regulation, process trauma, and shift behavior patterns. Family involvement remains central, with weekly therapy, parent coaching, and multi-day intensives that help rebuild communication and connection.

Balance Care, Learning, and Life

Each day follows a consistent rhythm of therapy, academic time, and therapeutic activities. During the school year, girls complete 2.5 hours of academics to stay on track. The environment is home-like, with shared living spaces, communal meals, and access to outdoor areas. Experiential therapies such as art, yoga, and equine-assisted work are integrated into the routine to support regulation. Set within a green, open space, girls can also spend time with center pets, including Tory the dog and Highland cows Biscuit and Honey.
