About Northwest MBTC
Helping people with life-controlling problems through a free residential Christian discipleship program, Northwest Bible Training Center is part of the Mission Teens ministry for individuals with drug or alcohol addiction. Residents follow a structured daily schedule with 5 1/2 hours of Bible study, household responsibilities, and 4 training phases that gradually increase responsibility before leading to the program's counselor training phase.
Bible Study and Shared Responsibility
Northwest Bible Training Center centers each day on Bible study, discipleship, and shared responsibility. Residents complete a study of the New Testament and an overview of the Old Testament while following house rules and participating in daily responsibilities. Program leaders make major decisions, while junior staff and experienced residents help newer residents follow the program.
Progress Through Each Phase
The program begins with a 2-month induction period focused on learning the daily routine and following house expectations. As residents advance, they take on additional household responsibilities, receive limited phone calls and immediate family visits, and eventually counsel another resident each day under senior staff supervision. Graduates may continue into a 10 to 12-month staff training program.
