As an alternative to psychiatric hospitalization, KARE Center is a 16-bed residential program of Kenosha Human Development Services (KHDS) in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Working in partnership with Kenosha County Behavioral Health, they provide short-term stabilization for individuals experiencing mental health or substance use disorder (SUD) crises. Residents access the program through crisis intervention rather than traditional hospital admission.

Residential Crisis Care and Detox

Staff assist residents with suicide prevention, symptom management, and coping skills during their stay. KARE Center also operates Kenosha's only social detox facility, helping individuals who need detox services for alcohol or other substances. Residents can contact their existing psychiatrist or connect with one through Sunrise Clinical Services, another KHDS program, while receiving residential care.
