Gavin Foundation - Eileen's House for Women

Eileen’s House for Women is a residential program in Dorchester and part of the Gavin Foundation, a long-standing community organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by substance use. The program serves up to 30 adult women at a time and offers a structured place to live while working toward stability and independence. Designed specifically for women, it centers on safety, connection, and trauma-centered care, helping residents build daily life in a steady, supportive setting.

Daily Structure and Support

Each day is built around routine and consistent support. The program uses trauma-informed approach, recognizing how past experiences can shape recovery and daily life. Women work with staff through case management, recovery coaching, and family-focused services, with care shaped to their individual needs, Time is spent building practical skills, preparing for employment, and working toward goals like reconnecting with family. With an average stay of about 4 months, residents have space to settle in and make progress.

Environment That Builds Connection

Women live together in a home-like setting in Lower Mills, where daily life is shared. Support comes not only from staff but also from peers who understand the challenges of recovery. This shared environment helps build trust, accountability, and a sense of belonging. Over time, women begin to feel more confident in themselves and more prepared for life beyond the program.
