BRIDGES Psychiatric Day Treatment

BRIDGES is a year-round psychiatric day treatment program (PHP) of Children’s Home of York for youth ages 6 to 18 facing severe emotional and behavioral challenges. Designed prevent or step down from inpatient care, it blends intensive mental health treatment with on-site academics, helping students stabilize and thrive in both health and school. Clinicians collaborate with certified special education staff to build each child’s care and learning plan. This ensures students receive the mental and academic support needed for recovery and growth.

SOAR Tools for Self-Understanding

SOAR uses a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach guided by trust-based relational intervention. Teens engage in evidence-based therapies such as dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), expressive arts, affect regulation, and pet therapy to grow emotionally and socially.

Reaching Independence through Support and Experience

Children’s Home’s RISE Program is a residential setting for male youth ages 16 to 21 who have faced challenges in former living arrangements. They use a sanctuary model of care and beign with a life skills assessment to determine how to best serve clients.

Clients live in a small, home-like group setting with 2:1 staff supervision. They earn level-based privileges, practice responsibilities like cooking and cleaning, and learn to manage their daily routines. This structured yet supportive environment mirrors aspects of transitional housing while offering a deeper level of care.
