About Camillus House Overnight Shelter
Camillus House Overnight Shelter, located at 7th Avenue near downtown Miami and Jackson Memorial Hospital, offers emergency and long term housing for homeless adults facing mental illness, substance use, or trauma, including sexual abuse. Easily accessible by public transit, the shelter provides a safe, welcoming space for both men and women to begin their recovery journey.
Begin Emotional Healing
Using a supportive housing model, the shelter offers individual and group counseling to address trauma, depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders. Survivors of sexual abuse receive compassionate care and referrals to psychiatric support. These services help residents heal emotionally, regain stability, and work toward long-term wellness.
Restore Daily Stability
In addition to shelter, residents receive meals, clothing, hygiene care, and support with job readiness and life skills. Healthcare and legal referrals are also available. With its open-door policy and low-barrier access, the shelter serves as a critical refuge for those seeking safety, dignity, and a fresh start.

Center Overview

Supportive Medication for Recovery
Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is an evidence-based approach that pairs FDA-approved medications with counseling to treat addiction. The medications are used to reduce cravings, ease withdrawal symptoms, or block the effects of substances. More about MAT
Methadone
Naltrexone
Buprenorphine
This center accepts patients receiving MAT prescribed elsewhere for opioid use disorder, but does not provide MAT.
Note: Treatment centers offer different forms of MAT—such as oral tablets, dissolvable films, or monthly injections—and their policies can vary based on state regulations, provider preferences, and insurance coverage. Because of these differences, it's best to contact the center directly to learn what options are available and what might be right for your situation.
