Bridge Over Troubled Waters

A community-based organization serving the youth of Boston to live healthy and transformed lives. Since 1970, this center has been welcoming the youth ages 14-24 with a caring space to seek safety, temporary shelter, build life skills, and gain confidence in facing daily life challenges. They accept clients without any complicated medical requirements and confusing steps to follow. A place that warmly provides immediate support for those in crisis or simply needing a safe place to stretch for the night.

Trauma-Informed Care For Youth

Over the years, the services of this youth-focused center have evolved and made service innovation to provide age-appropriate interventions. At the center, counseling, life skills training, trauma-informed care is provided to acknowledge the unique needs of every individual. Education and employment support programs are available for the youth to help them learn the necessary survival tools and eventually deal with challenges healthily. Mobile medical van programs provide street outreach nightly to offer support, survival kits, clothes, food and medical attention to the vulnerable youth.

Homelessness To Stability

They offer various options for the youth to accommodate their needs. Single parent houses provide temporary haven for pregnant women and young moms and their kids. It is a place for them to thrive and rebuild a sturdy foundation to rebuild the future. Emergency residential services is a program for the homeless transitioning youth. Runaway youth are provided with daily hot meals, access to lockers, laundry systems and showers. The program includes intensive counseling sessions to gain financial management skills, and continue education while supervised by case managers. With the various options and flexibility for the youth, this center has helped improve lives and still aims to provide quality service for the generations to come.
