About ANEW Chemical Health Services
Part of a women-focused network of care in Saint Paul, Minnesota, ANEW Chemical Health Services provides women-only residential and outpatient treatment for both substance use and co-occurring mental health concerns. Clients who need residential care can start in the center's 40-bed program and continue into 9 months of phased outpatient care, while others can enter the outpatient program directly. Through their wider care network, clients can also access psychiatric services, acupuncture, recovery yoga, and childcare, and a Plan of Safe Care program that connects pregnant and pospartum mothers with parenting supporting and community resources.
Earn Privileges Through Daily Progress
Residential treatment typically lasts 75 to 90 days. The center uses the Rewards in a Positive Living Environment (RIPLE) system, where clients earn stamps for completing daily responsibilities and use them for items and privileges, including cell phone access. Those who step down to medium intensity care can also earn approved outside passes. Clients can also continue prescribed methadone, Suboxone, Subutex, or Sublocade, with psychiatric and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) services available through Affirmation Health.
Continue with Phased Outpatient Care
After residential treatment, clients can continue into a 3-phase outpatient program that gradually reduces treatment frequency over 9 months. They start with 3 weekly group sessions and 1 individual session, then taper to 1 weekly group and monthly individual counseling. Clients in outpatient care with at least 30 days without substance use can also apply for ANEW sober housing, including options for mothers with children. A monthly Family Evening helps loved ones learn about recovery and how to provide support.

Buprenorphine
Note: Treatment centers offer different forms of MAT—such as oral tablets, dissolvable films, or monthly injections—and their policies can vary based on state regulations, provider preferences, and insurance coverage. Because of these differences, it's best to contact the center directly to learn what options are available and what might be right for your situation.
