About Woodridge Interventions - Abraxas Youth and Family Services
Set on an 11-acre wooded campus in DuPage County, Woodridge Interventions has treated substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions since 1994. Part of the nonprofit Abraxas Youth and Family Services, the center provides separate residential programs for adolescent boys, adult men, and women, alongside outpatient care for adolescents and adults. Their multidisciplinary team combines addiction counseling, behavioral skills training, family involvement, and on-site education, with specialized services for justice-involved clients and families involved in child welfare.
Build Recovery Skills in Gender-Specific Residential Care
The men's and women's programs each provide at least 25 hours of clinical treatment weekly. The men's program uses a structured therapeutic community to build accountability, change harmful behaviors, and prevent relapse. The women's program addresses emotional and family challenges while connecting residents with medical, educational, and social resources.
Adolescent boys ages 14 to 18 receive 27 hours of weekly treatment, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and Aggression Replacement Training. Teens continue their education at the year-round, state-approved Woodridge Residential School and participate in sports, clubs, and community outings. Families can visit twice weekly and work with the treatment team on aftercare planning.
Step Down to Flexible Outpatient Care
Standard and intensive outpatient programs serve adolescents and adults who can live at home while continuing work or school. The center also offers driving under the influence (DUI) risk education, treatment classes, and continuing care. Admissions staff accept weekday walk-ins from 8 AM to 6 PM and schedule weekend appointments. The center accepts insured and uninsured clients, including those eligible for Medicaid or public funding.
Center Overview
Supportive Medication for Recovery
Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is an evidence-based approach that pairs FDA-approved medications with counseling to treat addiction. The medications are used to reduce cravings, ease withdrawal symptoms, or block the effects of substances. More about MAT
This center accepts patients receiving MAT prescribed elsewhere for opioid use disorder, but does not prescribe it.
Note: Treatment centers offer different forms of MAT—such as oral tablets, dissolvable films, or monthly injections—and their policies can vary based on state regulations, provider preferences, and insurance coverage. Because of these differences, it's best to contact the center directly to learn what options are available and what might be right for your situation.
