About Wellspring Lutheran Services Behavioral Health - Lansing
Helping families stay together during times of crisis, Wellspring - Lansing Family Services provides school counseling, family preservation, foster care services, reunification, and parenting support services for families involved with child welfare systems. As part of Michigan’s largest family preservation provider, they work with parents and caregivers facing challenges that may put children at risk of removal from the home. Their faith-based nonprofit organization has served Michigan families for more than 130 years while helping children remain safely connected to their families whenever possible.
Building Safer and Stronger Family Relationships
Their approach focuses on strengthening parenting skills, improving communication, and helping families create safer home environments. Families work 1-on-1 with trained specialists who provide practical support, crisis intervention, guidance, and problem-solving strategies. Parents learn ways to manage stress, improve family routines, address behavioral concerns, and build healthier relationships that support long-term family stability.
Supporting Families at Home and in the Community
Services are delivered in families’ homes and communities, allowing parents and children to practice new skills in real-life situations. Staff work closely with families during intensive short-term interventions and reunification efforts, helping them access community resources, develop support systems, and meet goals that promote child safety. Through individualized support and consistent guidance, families gain tools that help them remain safely together and reduce the need for out-of-home placement.
