About The Grant Group
Drawing on more than 4 decades of psychiatric practice, Dr. Cathal Grant leads The Grant Group in Bedford, Texas, where adolescents and adults receive treatment for mental health conditions and substance use disorders (SUD). The outpatient practice combines psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and advanced treatments for depression. Clinicians address anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), developing treatment plans based on each patient's symptoms and psychiatric history.
Psychiatric Care and Addiction Treatment
Dr. Grant begins with an assessment of each patient's psychological, neurological, genetic, and social history. Providers review medications, monitor treatment response, and adjust prescriptions when needed. Depending on the patient's condition, treatment plans may include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) or interpersonal therapy, while clinicians can arrange referrals to community therapists. The practice also treats alcohol and drug addiction through medication management and offers Suboxone treatment for opioid addiction involving heroin or prescription painkillers.
TMS and Spravato for Depression
For depression that has not responded adequately to medication, clinicians evaluate patients for transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) or Spravato. The Bedford office uses MagVenture TMS equipment under Dr. Grant's supervision, with sessions lasting approximately 20 to 30 minutes, typically 5 days weekly for 4 to 7 weeks. Clinicians also supervise Spravato (esketamine) nasal spray administration at the clinic and monitor patients afterward for side effects and blood pressure changes.

Supportive Medication for Recovery
Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is an evidence-based approach that pairs FDA-approved medications with counseling to treat addiction. The medications are used to reduce cravings, ease withdrawal symptoms, or block the effects of substances. More about MAT
Methadone
Naltrexone
Buprenorphine
Note: Treatment centers offer different forms of MAT—such as oral tablets, dissolvable films, or monthly injections—and their policies can vary based on state regulations, provider preferences, and insurance coverage. Because of these differences, it's best to contact the center directly to learn what options are available and what might be right for your situation.
