About The Beachcomber - Fort Lauderdale
Serving South Florida since 1976, this family-owned addiction treatment program helps adults recover from substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions while staying connected to work, family, and daily life. The Fort Lauderdale location offers high-intensity outpatient / partial hospitalization (HIOP - PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), standard outpatient (OP), and virtual intensive outpatient programs. Clients receive treatment while living at home or in sober housing, with day, evening, Saturday, and virtual scheduling.
Strengthen Recovery Through Specialized Care
Treatment begins at the level of care that best fits each client's needs, from a high-intensity outpatient program with a minimum of 6 hours of treatment per day to intensive outpatient (IOP) with 10 or more hours of treatment each week, before transitioning to outpatient care. Clients remain with the same clinical team throughout treatment. Individual, group, and family therapy, trauma therapy, psychiatric support, and an 8-week CENAPS relapse prevention program. Clinical approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and 12-Step facilitation. The center also supports specialized groups that address underlying concerns, including integrated recovery for behavioral addictions, chemsex, trauma related to domestic violence or sexual abuse, and the needs of LGBTQ+ clients, older adults, and adult children of alcoholics.
Continuing Care
Clients can continue care through outpatient treatment, relapse prevention, family sessions, art and music therapy, nutrition groups, and gender- and age-specific groups. An active alumni program and coordination across Beachcomber's residential and outpatient locations support ongoing recovery and transitions between levels of care when clinically appropriate.
