About Stanford Sierra Youth and Families - Grass Valley
Located south of Condon Park, Stanford Sierra Youth & Families serves children, teens, and caregivers facing mental health concerns, behavioral difficulties, and family instability. Located at 1020 McCourtney Road, Suite A, in Nevada County, the center belongs to a nonprofit organization founded in 1900. Services include family preservation, family advocacy, and pathways to permanency. Office hours run Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Friday until 5 p.m.
Counseling and Family Preservation
The family preservation program provides individual, family, and group counseling for young people experiencing emotional or behavioral difficulties. Counselors work with caregivers to address communication problems, parenting challenges, and concerns affecting home life. Family support staff may also assist families in their homes or communities. The program focuses on preventing unnecessary family separation and helping young people remain in stable living arrangements.
Foster Care and Family Services
Family advocacy helps caregivers navigate services and participate in decisions affecting their children. Pathways to permanency assists foster and kinship families working toward long-term family connections. Families can receive services outside residential treatment, depending on program eligibility. Some programs may use Medi-Cal funding, but families should confirm coverage, referral requirements, and availability directly with the organization.
