About Sexual Assault Crisis Center of Eastern Connecticut (SACCEC)
The center provides free, confidential support for people of all ages who have experienced sexual assault, abuse, or harassment. Their services include crisis intervention, counseling, advocacy, and accompaniment. As a nonprofit serving 41 towns in Connecticut since 1974, the center offers immediate and long-term care through its primary crisis center in Willimantic and its satellite crisis center in New London, supporting children, teens, adults, and families.
Care That Listens, Supports, and Rebuilds
Their approach is grounded in trauma-focused care, helping survivors feel safe, heard, and supported throughout the healing process. Clients can access individual counseling, virtual sessions, crisis hotlines, and guidance during medical, legal, and community procedures. Advocates use evidence-based practices and clear education to help survivors understand their rights, manage stress responses, and rebuild a sense of control.
Thoughtful Programs for Every Survivor’s Needs
The center offers specialized programs that address the needs of diverse groups, including children through accredited Child Advocacy Centers, teens and young adults, male survivors, elders, military members, and college students. Community outreach and prevention programs promote safety and awareness, while 24/7 hotline support and medical accompaniment ensure survivors have access to immediate care whenever needed.
