About SÁÁ Akureyri Outpatient Clinic
Located on the second floor of Hvannavellir 14, the center offers counseling and support for individuals dealing with alcohol, drug, or gambling addiction. Services are available to people at any stage of recovery, whether just beginning or following inpatient treatment. Some clients come for initial assessments and may be referred to a hospital. Family members can also receive guidance, even if their loved one has not yet entered treatment.
Services and Therapies
The facility offers support groups, walk-in appointments, and remote counseling. Services are offered in private meeting rooms and group spaces. Family-focused programs include regular education courses and interviews, while children aged 8–18 can receive therapy if a close relative struggles with addiction. Weekly child sessions take place on-site or remotely, starting with an in-person assessment. The team provides structured, consistent support without requiring hospitalization.
