About Contra Costa Health Room to Overcome, Achieve, and Recover (ROAR)
Close to natural parks and the San Francisco Bay, ROAR runs an outpatient day program for youth ages 13 to 17. They treat mental health conditions like depression and anxiety with substance use disorders (SUD) at the same time, and combine clinical care with an on-site hybrid school program focused on credit recovery and small class sizes.
Treatment Services and Structure
ROAR begins care with behavioral health intakes and assessments, then builds treatment plans around each youth. Staff includes therapists, a substance use counselor, a family partner, and a program supervisor, all working as 1 team. Treatment groups include expressive arts, adventure therapy, and peer support.
