About Pathways Behavioral Services - Sycamore
Serving downtown Waterloo as a substance use treatment and virtual mental health care site, the Sycamore office helps clients address alcohol or drug use, anxiety, depression, and concerns that overlap. The team uses a strengths-based approach to understand substance use patterns, mental health symptoms, and how they affect daily life. Clients work with counselors to set practical goals around recovery, emotional health, and everyday functioning.
Build Skills and Mental Health
Counselors help clients identify alcohol or drug use patterns and triggers, build coping skills, prevent relapse, and work toward recovery goals. Pathways also provides intensive outpatient, extended outpatient, and continuing care for clients who need added substance use support. Through telehealth, mental health counselors help clients manage anxiety, depression, and other emotional concerns affecting relationships and daily life.
Connect with Peer and Community Support
Black Hawk County clients can also work with peer specialists and recovery coaches who use lived experience to help with recovery goals and connect them with community resources. Pathways provides family and veteran peer support, language assistance, and referrals to additional treatment when needed. The Sycamore office opens Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 4:15 PM and Friday from 8:00 AM to noon. Free, confidential crisis support is available around the clock through Your Life Iowa.
