About Merakey State Avenue
Supporting adults as they recover and build healthier, more stable lives, Merakey State Avenue is an outpatient behavioral health center for people experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma-related concerns, serious mental illness, addiction, and other psychiatric conditions. They address needs affecting work, relationships, housing, physical health, and independence through personalized therapy, psychiatric care, medication management, and recovery planning.
Build Stability with Practical Support
They provide therapy, psychiatric evaluation, medication management, case coordination, peer-guided recovery services, and life-skills development. They also connect adults with healthcare, transportation, benefits, employment, and housing resources. This coordinated approach helps people manage symptoms while building steadier routines, practical confidence, and greater independence in daily life.
Extend Recovery into Community
Located along State Avenue, this center is part of Merakey, a nonprofit dedicated to helping people, families, and communities. Merakey began in Philadelphia in 1969 as The Northwest Center, later became NHS Human Services, and has grown into a multi-state provider serving 12 states across behavioral health, autism, addiction recovery, intellectual and developmental disability, education, foster care, aging, and veteran services. At this location, they continue that recovery-oriented mission while remaining distinct from Merakey’s Pennrose Place and Valley Street centers.
