Merakey Penn Avenue

Strengthening emotional health and family stability, Merakey Penn Avenue is a behavioral health and child and family services center for adults, children, adolescents, young adults, caregivers, and foster families. They address mental health conditions, behavioral concerns, family conflict, school difficulties, and placement-related needs through outpatient care, family treatment, and foster care services.

Support Recovery and Reunification

Adult services include therapy, psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and case coordination. Their youth and family services add outpatient therapy and psychiatry, family-based treatment, crisis guidance, school collaboration, and foster care support focused on caregiving, placement stability, reunification, and family wellbeing. These services help build safer relationships, healthier routines, and greater stability across home, school, and community life.

Merakey began in Philadelphia in 1969 as The Northwest Center, later became NHS Human Services, and has grown into a multi-state provider serving 12 states across behavioral health, autism, addiction recovery, intellectual and developmental disability, education, foster care, aging, and veteran services. At this location, they continue that mission through recovery, resilience, safety, and stronger family life.
