About Housing Works - The Ginny Shubert Center for Harm Reduction
Located near the Hudson River, Housing Works - The Ginny Shubert Center for Harm Reduction combines outpatient healthcare with low-barrier addiction and harm reduction services at 301 West 37th Street. Patients can reach the center from the A, C, or E train at 34th Street-Penn Station. The 4th-floor health center provides primary care, behavioral health, substance use disorder (SUD) treatment, wound care, STI treatment, hepatitis C care, medication management, sexual health, and adult gender-affirming care. They operate Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Harm Reduction and Addiction Services
They provide syringe exchange, health education, overdose-prevention counseling, naloxone access, mental health counseling, HIV and hepatitis C rapid testing, case management, shower services, and a drop-in space. Addiction care may include individual and group counseling, medication-assisted treatment (MAT), safer-use supplies, and overdose-response training. Drop-in and syringe services remain open until 8 p.m. on weekdays and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.
Methamphetamine and Medical Care
ReCharge serves people with current or recent crystal meth use through virtual and in-person counseling, case management, benefits navigation, drop-in groups, and PrEP and PEP care coordination. The center also connects patients with wound care, sexual healthcare, hepatitis C treatment, chronic disease management, and other medical services. The center does not require patients to have insurance, while Housing Works accepts various plans and offers a sliding-fee schedule based on income and family size.
