Greenbrook Mental Wellness Center - River Oaks

For depression that has not responded enough to standard treatment, Greenbrook Mental Wellness Center River Oaks uses 2 clinical approaches: NeuroStar transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and SPRAVATO® esketamine nasal spray. The center treats treatment-resistant depression and certain depressive symptoms associated with major depressive disorder. A Greenbrook-affiliated provider reviews symptoms and treatment history, determines eligibility, and creates an individualized treatment plan before care begins.

NeuroStar TMS Experience

A typical NeuroStar TMS course includes 30 to 36 sessions over 6 to 9 weeks, and patients typically attend 5 days a week. Patients remain awake while the device delivers magnetic pulses to targeted areas of the brain, and the first session includes mapping to determine magnet strength and coil position. Sessions require no sedation, and patients can drive themselves home and return to work, school, or other activities afterward.

SPRAVATO Treatment Experience

SPRAVATO® treatment follows a structured schedule based on individual clinical needs, beginning with 2 treatments per week during Weeks 1 through 4, followed by 1 treatment per week during Weeks 5 through 8, and 1 treatment every 1 to 2 weeks thereafter. Patients receive SPRAVATO in a REMS-certified outpatient setting, self-administer the medication under medical supervision, and remain for observation before returning home. Treatment schedules may vary based on each patient's clinical condition.
