About Foster Care Mental Health
Child welfare involvement defines the scope of this San Francisco program. Foster Care Mental Health specializes in serving children and youth ages 0 to 18 and their families, providing individual and group therapy, assessments, crisis services, case management, medication support, and psychiatric services. The clinic serves people with low incomes, those who are uninsured, and those who have or qualify for Medicare, Medi-Cal, or San Francisco Health Plan.
Reaching Families Beyond Office Visits
Foster Care Mental Health extends its work through Therapeutic Visitation Services, In-Home Behavioral Services, and Intensive Care Coordination. Case managers assess needs, coordinate care, and connect families with other services, while psychiatrists evaluate clients for medication support when needed. The clinic also provides support groups. Its team speaks English and Spanish, with interpreter services available for other languages.
