About Beacon Behavioral Outpatient - Bellaire
Focused on managing mental health conditions and related substance use issues, Beacon Behavioral - Bellaire is an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for adults 18 and older. Located along Spruce Street in Bellaire, they treat depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, psychosis, and difficulties with daily functioning. Their program includes three therapeutic group sessions each day, 3-5 days a week, helping adults develop coping skills and work toward treatment goals while continuing their daily routines.
Managing Symptoms and Preventing Relapse
Their treatment approach combines cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) techniques to address unhelpful thought patterns, manage emotions, and improve daily functioning. They also provide psychiatric assessments, medication management, and individual treatment planning. For co-occurring mental health and substance use conditions, their counseling team teaches drug and alcohol education, helps identify behaviors linked to substance use, and develops skills for managing relapse.
Compassionate Care Since 1998
Beacon Behavioral began in 1998 as a community mental health center and has since expanded their mental health services across multiple locations. Their multidisciplinary team includes psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and counseling staff who work together to support progress. They offer free confidential pre-admission assessments, transportation assistance, lunch, and light snacks during treatment.
